Technology

The Technology Department at Havelock North Intermediate School have developed an approach to Technology that involves developing products (technological outcomes) through technological practice. Adaption and innovation are at the heart of technological practice and the development of quality outcomes is encouraged.

Technology makes use of its  own particular knowledge and skills together with those of graphics and other forms of visual representation.

At Havelock North Intermediate students are encouraged to achieve to their highest abilities and to be innovative in the development of their technological outcomes. We encourage students to communicate their knowledge and skills effectively in  the different areas and environments they will be engaged in.

We have 5 technological environments within the department; Materials Technology, Electronics & Control Technology, Food Technology, Film & Media Technology and Art & Design Technology.

At Year 7 students have 10 lessons in each of the areas of Technology. In Year 8 students have 9 lessons in each of the areas of Technology.
