Year 7 Program

The students participate in a drama which focuses on the issue of bullying. In the drama they are introduced to a boy called Billy. They develop a treatment and shot list for a new scene involving Billy.

As a class a short scene is filmed. They develop skills in film making and editing. They also produce a TV broadcast in the studio. Each student receives a DVD of the short film and TV broadcast.

Year 8 Program

The foucs of the Year 8 Media Studies program is the operation of TV5 studio. The students run the mornig program every day and take on the responsiblity of hosting and presenting the morning and afternoon shwos. Other jobs include operating the tele prompter, audio and video mixer, video playback and acting as floor manager and camer operators.

The students continue to dvelop their film making skills through story boarding and video production. They make a short film in the studio and take responsiblity for all aspects of the production from directing, acting, camera operation, clapper board and logging shots. They then edit the film adding appropriate audio and video FX and titles which are in keeping with the chosen genre (presently film noir).
