Enrolment packages will be available from contributing schools and the school office from August.

The Board of Trustees and staff at Havelock North Intermediate School are committed to providing quality education for all children at the school. There is an optimum roll figure for the school above which the quality of education delivered might be diminished. This figure is determined by the available resources including personnel, buildings, ground and facilities. The enrolment scheme aims to avoid overcrowding by restricting the number of children to be enrolled at the school.

  1. unless an enrolment scheme is put in place there might be overcrowding at the school;
  2. the purpose of the scheme is to avoid overcrowding at the school; and
  3. the scheme will not have the effect of excluding from the school more prospective pupils than necessary to avoid overcrowding at the school.
To avoid overcrowding at Havelock north Intermediate School, the optimum roll is 610 pupils.

  1. Maintain the highest possible standard of education delivery to the children attending the school.
  2. Avoid overcrowding.
  3. Ensure undue pressure is not placed on the resources of the school
  4. If required, limit numbers of children enrolling using pre-established criteria.
  5. Give priority to those children living in the school zone.
  6. Maintain some flexibility in enrolments in order to not exclude more children than is necessary to meet the above objectives.
