Absences

Parents and Caregivers of children who will be absent from school are asked to ring the school by 8.30am the first day your child is absent. All children must bring a note explaining the absence to their classroom teacher on the childs return to school.

NB HNI uses an automated Early Notification programme.  If a student is absent and the school has not received notification by 8.30am then parents will be informed by: txt, email and/or landline call.

Any student who becomes ill at school will be looked after to the best of our ability, but should we consider the student would be better off at home, then the School Secretary or Principals Secretary will ring and ask for the child to be collected. In this matter it is essential that the school has an up to date contact and emergency contact number of someone who can help out in an emergency situation. In the case of an accident requiring medical attention, the student will be taken to the Doctor or an Ambulance called and parents notified immediately so that the student has a parent/caregiver present as soon as possible.
